Ok so I didn’t have my cell phone or camera ready fast enough but... I just saw a C8 Corvette live, in the wild for the first time.

You guys, I tried. I tried to have an open mind.

I hate it.

It looks cheap. The front end is a fucking nightmare, and there isn't a single, intact line down the body. It looks like a knock off of a supercar.

I’m with you. Saw one a few weeks ago in Jackson, WY. Honestly, haven’t really loved any Vette designs post- C5Z.

The front looks significantly less sleek than the front engined one that came before it. It's pretty busy down the sides. I like some parts of it and I see the appeal but I don't think they bailed the looks.

I think it looks like a budget Ferrari 458/488. It surely drives like one. I drove one on track at Pitt Race and I will be driving one on the roads soon.

I think it will age a little better than the C7.

It’s so ugly, there were some great artist designs that came out when the rumors swirled and it could have been a pretty car. It just looks like someone with no taste designed it.

If I had one today , I’d completely debadge it, since it looks like a budget knockoff supercar and most people won’t recognize it yet. Aside from that, I’d rather have an older actual super car if I was just buying it as a weekend car like most Corvette owners do.

I don’t hate the C8, having seen a few in person. But it’s definitely not nearly as pleasant on the eyes as the C7.

If I had to rank them, it would go:

C2 , C5 , C7, C1, C6 , C8 , C4, C3.

For the record, I don’t think any of them are ugly.

I think it’s one of those cars that really depends on the colour. Anyone who buys it in silver is insane. In red it’s surprisingly meh. In blue (there are two, the dark one is best imo) or orange it’s fantastic.

I’m still pissed off that they called a MR car a Corvette though.

I think it looks great! It looks e xactly how it should. Aggressive, angular in the bright racey colors and sleek, expensive in the darker deeper colors. It can have a completely different feel if you get the black accents and the high wing options vs body color accents and no wing. The wheel options could be better but they aren’t bad. Haven’t sat in one but love the gt2 and competition seats look amazing as well. And it seems like the Z06 will be bringing the sp ecialness with its new engine.

Bummer about no manual though, that’s the deal breaker for me unfortunately.

I’m with you. We have plenty already here in the Quad Cities, and man, they just look tacky. There isn’t a single coherent line in the design and there are no angles to view the car that help its case.

As you said, it looks like an unlicensed supercar knockoff like you'd find in games like GTA. Striking, and absolutely not in any good way.
